  • Applicants have a dilemma to choose in between the CLAT and AILET exam of the law.
  • Both law exams vary in terms of level, exam pattern, and authorities.
  • In India, there are various National and State Level Law exams for admission of the student in an undergraduate and post-graduate program.

CLAT vs. AILET Eligibility Criteria

CLAT Eligibility Criteria

Qualification- 12th (or equivalent) exam from a recognized University/ Institute/ College. The students who appear in the class (10+2) 12th exam in 2021 can also apply for the CLAT 2021.

Age Limit- No upper limit to apply for the CLAT Exam.

AILET Eligibility Criteria

Qualification- 10+2 (or equivalent) with 50% of marks or more than in aggregate is eligible to apply for AILET 2021. The students who appear in the class (10+2) 12th exam in 2021 can also apply for the AILET 2021.

Age Limit- No upper limit to apply for the AILET Exam.

Marking Scheme: +1 mark for each correct answer and 0.25 marks deducted for each incorrect answer.

Mode of Exam: Online

Total Questions: 150 MCQs

Total Sections: 5 sections (English Language, General Knowledge & Current Affairs, Elementary Mathematics, Legal Aptitude, and Logical Reasoning).

Exam Duration: 90 minutes

Marking Scheme: +1 mark for each correct answer and 0.25 marks deducted for each incorrect answer

Mode of Exam: Offline (OMR sheet will be given to fill).

LLM Program Total Marks: 150 marks

Total Questions: 100 MCQs of 1 mark each; 2 Essay questions of 25 marks each

Total Sections: 3 sections Constitutional Law, Jurisprudence, and other topics (Torts, Criminal Law, International Law, IPR, etc.).

Exam Duration: 2 hours

Marking Scheme: +1 mark for each correct answer and 0.25 marks deducted for each incorrect answer.

Mode of Exam: Online

Total Questions: 100 MCQs and 1 Essay Writing question

Exam Duration: 90 minutes

Mode of Exam: Offline

AILET

Q)- Which NLU conducts AILET?

A)- AILET Exam 2020 was conducted by the National Law University, Delhi. For the year 2021, the conducting body will be released with the AILET Official Notification 2021.

Q)- What is the exam mode for CLAT and AILET?

A)- The exam mode of CLAT is Online, whereas the AILET is Offline (OMR Sheet will be given to the candidates to fill the circles by pen or pencil).
